Linux is the dominant operating system in supercomputers

Coinciding with the event International Supercomputing Conference (ISC) 2012 has published a new list of 500 fastest supercomputers in the world , where there’s new supercomputer IBM Sequoia supercomputer followed by K Fujitsu Computer , both teams running under the system.

From The H Open inform us that Linux is not only present in the two fastest in the world, but in 92.4% of the 500 fastest computers in the worlds, that is, Linux is present in 462 supercomputers list.

Predominates as a Linux operating more reliable and with sufficient reliability and robustness to squeeze the full potential of the world’s most powerful supercomputers in the most critical and intensive tasks.

Other operating systems used in supercomputers on the list of 500 fastest are: Unix (used in 25 of the teams) and Windows (used in 11 of the teams).
