MediaTek launches new dual-core SoC MT6577 based on ARM Cortex-A9

, known manufacturer of SoCs based on licenses and directed the market, announces the launch of its new soc MT6577, which will make its appearance in many tablets from manufacturers such as Lenovo, TCL / Alcatel and other Chinese OEMs.

MediaTek MT6577 The SoC consists of two ARM Cortex-A9 cores running at 1GHz, an Imagination Technologies PowerVR graphics core SGX Series5 and MediaTek 3G/HSPA modem. It is aimed at smartphones based on Android OS Ice Cream Sandwich, and is expected to be released during Q3 of this year (from July to September).

According to MediaTek, the low cost of its new SoC will enable the development of economic smartphones yet rich in features, and also provide an enhanced user experience.
