Microsoft Adds Qualcomm SoCs provider for Surface RT
A few months ago we learned that Mediatek and Qualcomm were in talks with Microsoft to become the providers of ARM SoCs for future tablets second generation Surface RT . Bloomberg reports that negotiations have concluded and that qualcomm will be the new provider of Microsoft.
Microsoft expects its Tablet hybrid (or convertible) second Generation Surface rt have a much greater acceptance compared with current (those who have just obtained a 1% share in the market for tablets), thanks to the characteristics, performance and integration (LTE) Qualcomm snapdragon SoCs.
RT Surface second generation will debut on dates close to the launch of windows RT 8.1 (formerly known as Windows RT Blue) version of Windows that will incorporate the Outlook application for Windows RT, making it more attractive to business users.
Microsoft is also readying a new generation of their hybrid Tablet Surface Pro, which may be based on new microprocessors Intel Core fourth generation “Haswell”.
