Microsoft fixes vulnerability that allowed free activate Windows 8
A few weeks ago, a vulnerability introduced “accidentally” by Microsoft itself, allowed activate unlicensed copies of Windows 8 operating system, using the activation keys Free Windows Media Center for Windows 8 . Vulnerability has been silently corrected by Microsoft.
All users who try to activate Windows 8 illegally by the method mentioned in the first paragraph will receive the following message:
Now that vulnerability is resolved in the activation system Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro with Media Center can only be activated on PCs with preinstalled Windows 8 Pro Original (OEM) or retail versions (box or VL).
Even though the gap in the activation system Windows 8 has been corrected, the copies of Windows pre-activated by this method will remain active for the time being, although presumably not be long before Microsoft add them to its backlist (blacklist).
