Microsoft is working on “major announcement” for today: Tablet integrated with the Xbox?

In a few hours, is hosting a “big announcement” that not much is known, but all rumors suggest it will be a that will be produced in conjunction with Barnes & Noble. According to TechCrunch , the company is planning a team focused on entertainment, which could include streaming capabilities in coordination with the Xbox Live.

In its invitation, the company claims that “this will be a big announcement from Microsoft – do not want to miss.” There is no detail that will be a tablet, but following the submission of SmartGlass at E3, the darts have begun to point to the field of tablets.

Microsoft already has a partnership with Barnes & Noble, after investing $ 300 million in the Nook. In that agreement, Microsoft purchased 17.6% of the division responsible for the digital and student texts in the library. For this reason, it is speculated that Barnes & Noble would be the official manufacturer of the equipment.

Another possibility is that the manufacturer is Nokia, poses as Wired , considering the partnership that both companies closed for mobile phones. The last option is that Microsoft itself is to be responsible for the hardware – something the company does not usually do, despite having some experience with the Xbox and peripherals.

Whatever it is, will probably be of great importance to the company’s strategy in the launch of Windows 8. We will be covering the launch this afternoon (18:30 Chile / Argentina 19:30 / 17:30 Colombia, Peru, Mexico / Spain 0:30).
