Microsoft launches update graphical platform for Windows 7
A few days ago, Microsoft announced that its new DirectX 11.1 API would be exclusive to its new operating system Windows 8 , so they had planned to release a version compatible with windows 7 (and less for Windows Vista). But interestingly today published an updated graphical platform for Windows 7 (DirectX 11.1 as mini-NGOHQ).
The new update of the graphics platform of Windows 7 KB2670838 brings new versions of many of the components of directx API for Windows 7 users, among which are: Direct2D, DirectWrite, Direct3D, Windows Imaging Component (WIC), Windows Advanced Rasterization Platform (WARP), Windows Animation Manager (WAM), video decoder in H.264, JPEG XR codec and its API XPS document format.
With this update Microsoft promises enhanced graphics in Windows 7. It is worth mentioning that Microsoft did not update DirectX or any of its components since June 2010 , so this is a welcome update, but after installing it, the DirectX version shown in Windows 7 continues to be DirectX 11, directx 11.1 and as more than one would expect, so at least for now remains DirectX 11.1 Exclusive Windows 8.
