Microsoft suggests that Windows 8 final will be released in October
Steven Sinofsky, the head of Windows at Microsoft, outlined the path to the Release to Manufacturing (RTM) of Windows 8, hinting that the release date could be October, as has been speculated.
“The changes we make to the product from RP (Release Preview) to RTM are deliberate and carefully considered, including some specific features that we plan for the user experience , “said Sinofsky. “From now until RTM, we will continue making changes to Windows 8, as we have in past releases of Windows,” he said.
“If the feedback and telemetry on Windows 8 and Windows RT fit with our expectations, then we enter the final stage of RTM in 2 months,” he wrote.
That would mean the end of July RTM – to compare, Windows 7 RTM version took the July 22, 2009, and was finally released on October 22. If you have Windows 8 reaches RTM version in late July, could repeat the same process you went through Windows 7.
