Nintendo loses the battle to be the domain WiiU.com

The World Intellectual Property Organization rules in favor of the original owners, now will have to provide a check if you want to have

Control by the internet domain is a fight not always win, at least that happened with Nintendo who was denied the right to seize the WiiU.com. A panel of arbitrators will shut the door to Nintendo, who sought to gain control of the domain and now the only option left is to buy it from its owners.

Nintendo of America made a request in February to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to grant it WiiU.com arguing domain cybersquatting. But ruled in favor of the original owner , as he had registered the domain in 2004, seven years before the Wii U was announced.

Currently the site WiiU.com is a search engine with some sponsored links that can be disabled if you have ad blocker. Domain owners are now in position to receive a hefty sum of money to cede the rights to Nintendo, as happened in 2006 when the company was made Wii.com Japanese.

While Nintendo has long registered that may refer to Wii U, missing the most important. The same applies to Microsoft and Sony, who are fighting to be done XboxOne.com and PlayStation4.com .
