Open webOS now available in beta

Open webOS now available in beta

Some time ago promised Open webOS would be ready in September . Said and done, the company has just released the Beta version of the ever developed by Palm.

Beta consists of two development environments: one for developing desktop applications that allow traditional platforms (for it somehow), and another called OpenEmbedded, the main objective of this OpenEmbedded is that can lead to “new and exciting devices, “as you can read in the project blog. Among other things, it includes an emulator for ARM architecture, which is quite talkative.

This beta consists of 54 components of webOS released as open source, or 450,000 lines of code distributed under Apache 2.0. The idea is that developers start using Open webOS to build applications that run on different devices and go slowly putting together a webOS ecosystem.
