Opera in Russia launches a music service to download or listen to streaming
The Norwegian firm Opera Software announced a new subscription service called ‘Unlimited Music’ (Music Unlimited) for its users in Russia, the largest market worldwide company with its Opera Mini Browser (which represents 52 , 5% of the mobile browsers). In fact, a large percentage of the browser market in the countries of the former Soviet Union lies with Opera (even in Belarus is the most used browser over IE, Chrome, Firefox and Safari).
The service will cost $ 5 and will be available for all types of browsers and operating systems. The idea is to offer “music files available in a simple and affordable for the Russians, whether they are using a smartphone or an ordinary phone,” the company said.
The 2 million songs Music Unlimited offering will listen via Streaming or download directly to the device to access the service (except for iOS due to the restrictions of Apple’s operating system to download files). The company expects to reach 1.5 million users by the end of 2013, and does not rule out that if successful will be extended to more countries.Music, Opera, Opera Mini, Streaming, Unlimited Music
