Operators of the Mars Curiosity leave time
NASA determined that those who would work to operate Curiosity on Earth, would have to take your time to Mars . Three months later, the scientists and engineers who were living in “suns” – or Martian days – 40 minutes longer, returned to Earth time.
Time changes planned, because with 40 minutes extra each day, after some time the “days” for these researchers to begin in the middle of the night. Life style and totally messes Martian biological clocks, as well as the personal life of each one of them, so they were very happy to return to normal schedule.
The reason was established three months of Martian time was to operate the robot in daylight hours on Mars, when the robot could make observations. After three months of operation, the group gained sufficient expertise to be able to plan Curiosity days without having to be awake at the same time.
According to NASA, most engineers and scientists now work between 8 am and 8 pm.
