'Password' continues to lead the 2012 list of the 25 worst passwords on the Internet

The firm SplashData released the 2012 ranking of the worst used by users, where again this year the top three were for ‘password’, ’123456 ‘and ’12345678′ respectively.

To perform the ranking, the company takes lists passwords that hackers publicly post them on the internet – like when filtered six million passwords LinkedIn -, and reviews which are mostly used by people.

  4. abc123 (up 1 place)
  5. qwerty (down one place)
  6. monkey (maintains its position)
  7. letmein (up 1 place)
  8. dragon (up 2 positions)
  9. 111111 (up three places)
  10. baseball (up 1 place)
  11. iloveyou (up 2 positions)
  12. trustno1 (down 3 posts)
  13. 1234567 (down 6 posts)
  14. sunshine (up 1 place)
  15. master (down one place)
  16. 123,123 (up 4 positions)
  17. welcome (new ranking)
  18. shadow (up 1 place)
  19. ashley (down 3 posts)
  20. football (up 5 places)
  21. jesus (new ranking)
  22. michael (up 2 positions)
  23. ninja (new ranking)
  24. mustang (new ranking)
  25. password1 (new ranking)

As seen in the list, including the new passwords that entered the ranking of the 25 worst passwords is ‘jesus’, ‘ninja’, ‘Mustang’ and ‘password1′, so if you use any of these, you are invited to change it immediately.
