Pebble announces that smart watches sold 275 thousand
After a successful campaign in Kickstarter and the assurance of USD $ 15 million to be sold in stores, the Pebble smart watch already has 275 thousand units reserved. The company released the numbers for the first time and took the opportunity to announce that they have downloaded over one million apps for the platform.
Of the 275 000 units, 190 thousand are from orders placed on the website, while the other 85 000 are Kickstarter campaign. According to its creator, Eric Migicovsky, there is still much work to do, especially in regard to Pebble SDK:
“We recognize that the beta SDK is incomplete and we are working quickly to reveal more features and APIs to external developers”
It is emphasized that these numbers are orders that are made online. The Pebble just started shipping this week at Best Buy stores in the United States at a price of USD $ 150.
