Rambus loses trial by LSI and ST Microelectronics and shareholder value collapses
Back in December 2010, Rambus filed a complaint with the ITC (International Trade Commission or “International Trade Commission”) alleging that companies like LSI, ST Microelectronics, Broadcom, Freescale, Nvidia MediaTek and infringed his patents , beginning another of judicial proceedings to which we are used the most famous patent troll industry.
Companies like Broadcomm, Freescale, Nvidia chose MediaTek and extra-judicial conduct agreements with Rambus, while LSI and ST Microelectronics held firm to the end. A wise decision, because the itc has finally decided to close this long judgment decreeing the defeat of Rambus, after having completed their investigations.
This verdict was devastating for Rambus, whose Value plummeted today, as the value of its shares plummeted $14 to less than U.S. $4 (U.S. $3.94 at the time of publication of this article).
