Rumor: NVIDIA GeForce plans to launch three new GK106 based

A few days ago leaked the web’s first review of the still unreleased GeForce GTX 660 , GPU still not clear whether it will be based on the rumored new graphics core GK106 Kepler , but apparently new rumors that come from VideoCardz suggest that if this core will be based on.

If the rumors, the new gk106 core would consist of a total of 960 shader processors, divided in an unusual configuration of five SMX, a figure that fails to convince, as this would give us two GPCs and a half, something very unlikely to get, unless the chip has a total of 1152 shader processors, and comes with 1 SMX (192 shaders) disabled.

Anyway, leaving aside whether GK106 rumors end up with 960 or 768 shaders shaders (the latter is still the most likely option). A leaked document apparently from Nvidia suggests that there will be three and GPUs based on the new core, which are described below:

  • GK106-400: GeForce GTX 660.
  • GK106-250: GeForce SE.
  • GK106-200: GeForce GTX 650 Ti.
  • GK106-875: Quadro Kxx (still unknown exact model).

The new GeForce GPUs based on GK106 will all 2GB of GDDR5 memory with 192-bit bus, while the Quadro GPU based on GK106 incorporate 3GB (192 bits).
