Samsung announces new 64GB eMMC memories Pro Class 2000
Just months ago, Samsung presented their cards eMMC (Embedded Multimedia Card) with trade name Pro Class 1500, in varieties nand memories 16, 32 and 64 GB. Today, the Korean company announced the production of the next generation of the same cards: Pro Class 2000.
In Samsung say their new memories exceed by 30% the performance of the now “conventional” model cards Pro Class 1500. At least on paper, the numbers speaks for itself when the Pro Class 2000 with read speeds up to 250 MB per second and write up to 50 MB per second, according to Samsung, this is ten times greater than external storage class 10.
The next generation EMMC are also somewhat smaller, reducing its size by 20% (11.5 x 13 mm), and are made with 10nm technology. In addition, Samsung will nominate these cards to JEDEC during 2013, with the intent to become a standard.
