Samsung announces new Exynos SoC 5400 Series “Adonis”
Samsung announces new members to its family of SoCs Exynos 5 Series, made initially by Exynos 5250 SoC : the new exynos 5400 Series, code-named Adonis.
Unlike previous Exynos soc 5200 Series, which are manufactured with the 32nm manufacturing process Samsung’s new Exynos 5400 Series “Adonis” will be made with the new 28nm manufacturing process from Samsung, this reduction in the process manufacturing (die shrink) SoCs will enable Samsung to offer a higher operating frequency while consuming less.
In architecture there are no differences between the two SoC, the new Exynos 5400 Series as Exynos 5200 Series continue to be based on the arm Cortex-A15 architecture and graphics have ARM Mali-T604 .
Samsung announced that it had started mass Production of its new chips, which are expected to operate at frequencies near and / or above 2GHz, while announcing that the first device based on these new SoC will be your Smartphone Galaxy S4, the which will be available from January to June next year.
