Sapphire presents a new GPU: Radeon HD 7870 XT with Boost
Less than a month ago, announced its GPU Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 Toxic , and now come with a new version of the same card based on AMD’s Tahiti Architecture: the Radeon HD 7870 XT with Boost.
The new HD 7870 XT also opens cooling technology X-Cooler, Sapphire. Among its technical features, includes 1536 stream processors, 96 texturing units, and memory interface 256-bit. The card clock 925 MHz mark that dynamically increase to 975 MHz, and as for RAM has type 2 GB GDDR5 memory running at 1500 MHz
There are also some improvements over previous card HD 7000 range from the side of the connectivity. The specification included HDMI 1.4a reaches that allows stereoscopic 3D output to 60 Hz for each eye (120 Hz), and also supports resolutions up to 4K, the card also comes ready out of the box for Windows 8, DirectX 11.1, and PCI-E Gen 3.0.
Finally, the HD 7870 XT is optimized for improved performance in a good range of applications using some specific capabilities of the GPU architecture, such as video decoding or games (obviously), but also can improve some simple tasks like Internet browsing or using office applications.
No prices were given official yet, but Sapphire say the idea is “to bring a new relationship-quality performance to the series” with its latest card.
