Sir Tim Berners-Lee, concerned about “forces that want to take control of the internet”

The creator of the World Wide Web, Sir Tim Berners-Lee, is concerned about what is happening around the with a lot of initiatives and multiple measures aimed at regulating the network of governments and large companies, which – to thrive – could completely change the original form in which the web was conceived.

Consulted by the issues related to acquisition systems online U.S. Berners-Lee said that internet is now under great threat from people who “want to control laws secretly worrying”, in allusion to open SOPA, dishonest spy maneuvers and large service companies online.

Berners Lee says that after being a fundamental part of our past two decades, the trail we leave on internet use – well reviewed – may shed very intimate things in life. So, in their eyes, those who keep our information have a very important responsibility that does not give any guarantees for their safety and if anyone can consult without our knowledge.

“The unjustified government surveillance is an intrusion on basic human rights that threaten fundamental elements of a democratic society. Call on all network users to demand better legal protection and due process guarantees for in their online communications, including right to be notified when someone orders or store your information, “he said.
