So was Microsoft Windows 8 when it occurred in 2010
Jensen Harris, a Microsoft employee, was presented at a conference on Usability and Design to discuss their work and performed by the company where he works, obviously turning the corner the complete re-design seen in windows 8 in relation to its predecessors. But instead of talking about the present or the future, what was shown was the last of Windows 8, which was Microsoft’s vision in 2010 while working on the development of the new platform.
Yes, for a long time that you think Modern UI (ex-Metro), and knew in advance that had to adapt Windows for best performance in tablet and touch-screen devices. Thus we see that the fundamentals of Windows 8 in 2010 already existed: the new home screen with grids and the right sidebar, which at the time was quite different to that seen today.
In the pictures below you can see what has changed in the couple of years, with some elements similar to what was finally achieved in Windows 8 final.
