SunnyBot: A solar-powered robot that redirects sunlight to a fixed point that you want
A campaign on Kickstarter looking for funding to launch a product that consists of a rotating mirror to reflect and redirect Solar energy and from the exterior to the interior of a home in order to enjoy the light and heat generated by the Sun king in the darkest corners of a house.
The invention is called SunnyBot, and consists of a small solar-powered robot whose microcomputer continuously monitors the position of the sun, turning and tilting the mirror to reflect sunlight on a specific point of your choice, be it a plant, a dark room, or wherever necessary sunlight.
According to the creators of SunnyBot, the robot can be used to redirect complete autonomy to 7,000 lumens, equivalent to a 500W halogen lamp, to the desired location within a range of 200 meters, with a margin of error of 10 centimeters above 30 meters.
The company behind the invention, the Italian startup Solenica, also plans to offer an open source version to be called SunnyDuino SunnyBot, which is compatible with Arduino and will come with its own SDK for those who want to hack the device to increase their functionality .
The Kickstarter campaign seeks to raise U.S. $ 313,100, and if they reach their goal, they plan to send the first units by the end of this year. While there is still no estimate of how much it will cost once released, those who collaborate with U.S. $ 310 on Kickstarter will receive SunnyBot and armed (unarmed version is no longer available on Kickstarter costs $ 233).
