Symantec claims that most data breaches are due to human error

The firm delivered its eighth annual report ‘ Cost of Data Breach ‘, held in conjunction with the Ponemon Institute which surveyed more than 1,400 people in 277 global organizations across nine countries: United States, United Kingdom , Germany, France, Australia, India, Italy, Japan and Brazil, where they found that most data breaches are due to errors of the employees before hackers or system errors.

According to the Symantec report, two thirds of data are errors made ​​by employees of the organization, and criticized subsequent analyzes usually focus on methods malicious attackers or hackers, rather than the human factor.

Among other relevant data showing the report is that the average data breach is 23,647 per organization, where each cost between U.S. $ 130 and U.S. $ 136 on average.
