Temporarily disables Microsoft Skype password reset by security flaw
A new Security flaw in skype was found a few months ago by Russian hackers, which describes a relatively simple procedure that would allow anyone to change the password of an account and gain control over it.
The method, which was confirmed by the site The Next Web – would exploit a vulnerability where you only need to know the username and the email address associated with your Skype account in order to occupy it to create a new account, and subsequently request a security token for forgotten password.
Given this failure, Skype disabled the ability to recover the password from their website. In a statement, the company stated that “we have reports of a new security flaw. W hile still investigating, c omo precaution, we have temporarily disabled resetting passwords. We apologize for the inconvenience but the safety and user experience is our first priority. “Cybersecurity, Hackers, Microsoft, password, Russians, Security, security flaws, skype, stealing passwords
