The web history in a timeline
John Allsop of Web Directions initiated a project to collect all the key moments in the History of the Web in a timeline. These milestones include network from publications of articles or books that have inspired its development, publishing standards, the major software release (such as browsers), and other significant events.
In the picture you can see that almost everything is concentrated between the late 1980s and early 2000s, however, the figure is a “work in progress” and its author called all those who believe that there is a significant milestone missing to send it to complete the timeline.
It is striking that in a relatively short time, the web has grown to what we have today. Even hard to imagine what it was like before the Internet site, or how people lived without being able to consult Google or Wikipedia.
