A U.S. company specializing in mining and data analysis related to called The Echo Nest says it is possible to predict the tastes in films based on the musical tastes of a person.

The company collected data from several music services like Rdio, Sirius XM, Nokia MixRadio, iHeartRadio, MTV, the Infinite Jukebox, among others, and traced the relationship between the likes of musicians and tastes about 50,000 users , where he found very interesting data.

For example, fans of romantic comedies also likes artists who sing about romantic relationships as Beyoncé, Usher, Celine Dion, and Jennifer Lopez, and if you like crime films, probably enjoy to Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Jay-Z, The Who, Bob Dylan and Pink Floyd, in that order.

This may seem obvious, but they also found something more unusual relationships, such as the fans of the Marvel comics have similar tastes to fans of DC comics, or fans of Pixar films have very different tastes family movie fans in general.

Perhaps the strangest thing about the variety of tastes among fans of the science fiction films and films of fantasy, because as seen in the chart below, the first enjoy more classic rock (and Lady Gaga?) , while the second listen more general pop like Rihanna and Avril Lavigne.
