This is the Earth’s magnetosphere, simulated video by NASA
NASA released a video produced by the Scientific Visualization Studio of the agency, which illustrates the balance between the climate system that makes life on Earth, and what could happen if the balance is affected. The displays are built with real data, giving us a way to see how our planet works and how it is changing.
In animation, a great explosion of magnetic energy from the Sun – known as coronal mass ejection – is received and deflected by the strong magnetic field of the Earth. The sun continually throws light and radiation to the planet and the atmosphere acts as a shield, blocking a significant portion of this energy.
Venus does not have the same protection, which has other consequences, as can be seen in the video.Land, planet, Solar Energy, solar storm, Space, Sun, Venus
