Twitter arrived in Latin America offering promoted tweets, accounts and trends
The sales manager of Twitter, Ali Jafari, said this morning in Chile that “we will begin to expand internationally, and in Latin America we will do so through a partnership with IMS”.
Operating a promoted account (Promoted account) would pay the Social Network between one and two dollars for every ‘follow’ is made to an account, so if anyone again follow, the client does not pay nothing.
A promoted tweet (Promoted tweet) would be charged with respect to the actions that make people respond or retweet as, for between one and two dollars per share.
While a trend promoted (Promoted Trend), correspond to a fixed price for a hashtag that would remain as ‘trending topic’ (TT) for 24 hours high on the microblogging network. In Chile this service would cost U.S. $ 5,000 (about CLP $ 2,362,948).
70% of the traffic generated by the 140 million active users of Twitter comes from outside the United States, and while in the north country “advertising reaches 1% of GDP in Latin America is 0.5 %, so there is a great opportunity for Twitter, “said Gaston Taratuta, CEO of IMS.
The system has already been successfully tested in the U.S., the UK and Japan, and is due to a segmentation that allows greater customization of advertising. “Agencies can choose the categories with which their companies reach their ultimate target,” said Maren Lau , CEO and Vice President of Corporate Development Corporate IMS.Tags: Advertising, Promoted Accounts, promoted tweet, Promoted tweets, promotion, Social Network, Social Networks, Twitter
