Video cards based on GPU Geforce GTX 660 will cost …

Since we know that Nvidia is preparing a new variant of its GK104 GPU to be launched under the trade name of Geforce GTX 660 (the most recent rumors suggest that Nvidia will not use the name “Tim” in this GPU), which will released in Q3 this year (July to September).

OBR Hardware, web characterized by a happy hit streak from last year reveals that although Nvidia has so far been consistent with the price of launching their new GeForce GTX 680 and GTX 670, prices were similar to prices launch of its predecessors: Geforce GTX 580 and GTX 570 respectively, this situation will not remain with the new Geforce GTX 660, which will have a launch price considerably higher than the launch price of the Geforce GTX 560 Ti.

As many will remember the Geforce 560 Ti had an introductory price of $ 250, and many hoped that the Geforce GTX 660 would maintain that price, but apparently Nvidia have decided to offer it at a price of between $ 299 to $ 329, is suggested that the same price for video cards based on AMD Radeon HD 7870 GPU.

It is noteworthy that the Geforce GTX 660 GPU would not be the first Kepler with a higher price than its predecessor, another example is the recent Geforce GTX 690, which has a considerably higher price (U.S. $ 999) than its predecessor the Geforce GTX 590 (U.S. $ 699).

It is too early to give as valid the rumor. We will keep you informed.
