WALL-E is among the new members of the Hall of Fame of the Robots
The Hall of Fame Robots , under the Robotics Institute of the Department of Computer Science of Carnegie Mellon University , yesterday celebrated the entry of four new members for the first time, were chosen jointly by a jury of 107 writers, academics and designers, and the popular vote , with each faction constituted half of the total vote.
The event was held at the Carnegie Science Center in Pennsylvania, and the winners of this year were in the category of education, programmable Robot Nao , in the category of industrial use, the PackBot , the ‘mule-robot’ BigDog won in the category of research, and the recognized character in the Pixar film of the same name, WALL-E, won in the category of entertainment.
With this, in addition to the winners from previous years as the Spirit and Opportunity rovers (who could not receive the prize for being on Mars ), Terminator, ASIMO , Commander Data, the Roomba vacuum cleaner, Maria from Metropolis, R2-D2, among others.
