The Foundation, responsible for the collaborative encyclopedia among other wiki projects, won a lawsuit filed by former politician Cesare Previti, former defense minister in the first government of the controversial Silvio Berlusconi (who recently was sentenced to seven years in prison ) and its ally recognized.

Previti – who was convicted at the time to six years in prison for the crime of corruption of judges – Wikimedia sued in January 2013 because she claimed that her Italian Wikipedia entry contained inaccuracies and defamatory statements, ensuring the item as “pseudo rumors -newspaper created by people completely unreliable.

Finally (and as expected), the court determined that the is considered a hosting provider rather than a content provider, so we can not be responsible for items created by individual contributors, and that if he wanted to question Previti content could have appealed directly to the community thanks to the way in which it operates Wikipedia.
