Zynga closes OMGPOP, Draw Something creators
For months Zynga is going through a crisis and yesterday experienced one of its most important chapters when you got rid of one-fifth of its workforce. One of those affected was the study OMGPOP, creators of the popular Draw Something, which was purchased over a year ago by the company of Mark Pincus.
A tweet from the official account of the study confirmed the departure of employees:
OMGPOP had joined the ranks of Zynga in March 2012 after closing a transaction valued at nearly $ 200 million . The study was renamed and moved to New York offices, same as closed yesterday in an attempt to restructure the company.
The purchase of this study was strange, for some it was late because draw something had reached the ceiling of popularity. As with any game (and more in the mobile), the popularity began to decline with the passage of time. Similarly the relationship between the two companies was never this good.Cierres, Closings, despidos, draw something, layoffs, OMGPOP, Zynga
