Zynga lays off 520 employees and close offices
Zynga lay off 18% of its workforce, which would be about 520 employees, looking to cut costs and restructure its business to mobile instead of focusing on Facebook. Zynga currently has 2,900.
In addition, the company will close its offices in New York, Los Angeles and Dallas. Zynga still maintain offices in San Francisco, Beijing and Bangalore, besides other smaller units in other U.S. cities The closures would also help the company save money.
Zynga should refocus their attention to the mobile business, which has not had much participation as on Facebook. On the other side, Zynga games seem to have a very long life, losing to users after some time.
