USB debugging mode is an option available on Android phones that allows the user to manipulate the device from the PC with more freedom than usual. Bypass the security restrictions imposed by the smartphone’s operating system, thereby open the doors fully to change software or make major modifications to the terminal.

Steps to enable USB Debugging on Android devices

In case you need it, the steps to enable USB Debugging in Android devices are the ones that we will explain below. However, we anticipate that you will need a computer and a minimum of computer skills. Otherwise, it may take a little longer than it should.

From pc

In case you want to use the PC to carry out this authorization, you have to use a program similar to Debug Tool with ADB, although this makes more sense when the terminal is of the Samsung brand.   • Once you have downloaded and installed it, you have to open it on your PC with administrator permissions. Right-click on the executable file (.exe) and, within the drop-down that opens below, click on “Execute as an administrator”.
  • After you have done this, it is time to connect mobile phone to computer. Don’t worry if it’s on, it should be.
  • Now, in the program that has been opened on the computer, you have to choose the type of processor make or model you are using, we recommend the latter. Just click on the corresponding tab.
  • In the same way, below you have to click on the tab “Extra” to open its corresponding settings panel.
  • Within this menu, you will see that there are several options and one in particular that interests us: “Open Usb Debug”. Click on its box to check it.

  • After checking all this, click on “Start Button” and let the program work.

*Note: As we have indicated before, if the phone processor belongs to Qualcomm brand (as with most Samsung), you have to follow a different procedure.

  • On your PC, download the program Android Diag Enabler from the links above.
  • When you have it down, unzip the file in which it comes in the folder you want (right click, “Extract here“,”Extract in…“Or”Extract”).
  • Now, go to the folder where it is and, instead of opening the program, go for another call “Adb”. Indeed, it is the ADB Debugging Tool. You have to open it.
  • Then, when that short loading process finishes and the window closes, run “Android Diag Enabler Universal”, the other executable available in the folder.
  • The moment the window opens, connect your phone via USB cable to PC (it doesn’t matter if it’s on).
  • After doing so, you will see that on the screen all the content is closed with the phrase “Make your selection and press Enter”. There, you have to press the key “1“From your keyboard and then hit”Enter”.
  • When you have done this, a procedure will begin with which the whole program will start and USB Debugging will be activated. If you want to continue with another phone, connect it now and press “2”In the new window.

With black or damaged screen

If your smartphone has a broken screen, it is practically inoperative and you will not be able to do anything with it. In this case, the process you have to follow falls on use the PC, so the best thing you can do is return to the previous section and follow each and every one of the steps.
