Review curious: Mayonnaise as thermal paste?
From Hardware Secrets comes a very interesting review which tested various thermal pastes many reputable manufacturers, facing them with economic “alternative home” as toothpaste, chocolate and mayonnaise.
For these tests used the popular Hellman mayonnaise, which for years tested with a variety of thermal pastes, cooling to an Intel Core i7-860:
This time focused on testing how good long-term solution is mayonnaise as an alternative to thermal compound, for which used an Intel Core i5-2500K mayonnaise attached via a cooler Cooler Master Seidon 120XL, which estresaron continuously for 12 days:
3 days after the mayonnaise began to degrade and not give as good results as the beginning, recording between 5 and 7 degrees compared to the initial 41 Â° C, thus proving that although these alternative solutions can become temporary solutions not what are long term, because oxidized surfaces that were in contact with mayonnaise, a situation that could get worse with time.
